Il significato di employer branding è in realtà piuttosto semplice. Con il termine “employer branding” si descrive la capacità di un’impresa di diventare un’azienda ricercata come valido datore di lavoro, creando un vero e proprio brand per i collaboratori o aspiranti tali. Questa attività ruota intorno alle caratteristiche e ai valori dell’impresa, che messi insieme definiscono l’identità aziendale, facendola emergere rispetto ai concorrenti.
L’espressione è stata coniata negli anni ’90, sulla scia del Customer Branding, ovvero sia i valori che l’azienda associa al proprio marchio per comunicarlo al consumatore. Se il Customer Branding è finalizzato a una fidelizzazione dei clienti, l’employer branding al contrario si pone come obiettivo l’acquisizione di candidati competenti, nonché la fidelizzazione dei dipendenti già assunti.
L’importanza dell’employer branding
Come si può facilmente intuire, l’employer branding è importante per ogni tipo di azienda. Questo perché, se da un lato si tratta di un modello che permette di attrarre le persone giuste, dall’altro è anche un modo per aumentare la brand reputation di un’impresa.
Un’azienda che punta a condividere i propri valori, che presta attenzione a come comunica sui social media e sul sito ufficiale, che sceglie determinati eventi a cui partecipare sta comunque puntando sulla sua reputazione. Così facendo questa accresce la sua visibilità sul mercato e favorisce internamente il senso di appartenenza, stimolando l’identificazione con l’azienda.

“Tenersi stretti” i propri dipendenti e collaboratori migliori è senza dubbio la prima cosa da fare: sarà infatti impossibile avere un’immagine aziendale positiva se chi vi lavora non è contento della propria “sistemazione”. Per fare questo occorre in primis creare l’ambiente e il clima adatti, dando particolare attenzione all’ascolto. Ascoltare attivamente i propri dipendenti deve diventare un’attività quotidiana, facendo in modo che possano esprimersi liberamente e sentirsi parte integrante dell’impresa. Un dipendente soddisfatto non solo lavora più volentieri, ma è anche orgoglioso di fare parte dell’azienda.
Talent Acquisition: conquistare nuovi talenti
Selezionare attivamente dei profili interessanti e utili (anche prima di aver necessità di nuovi lavoratori) è parte essenziale di una buona strategia di employer branding. Per farlo è necessario avere un quadro chiaro delle competenze presenti in azienda e dei potenziali gap da colmare. Questo tipo di attività finalizzata a ricercare nuovi talenti è già di per sé un segnale forte della volontà dell’azienda di distinguersi dalle altre: presentandosi come una realtà attenta, proiettata al futuro e in continuo miglioramento, sarà più facile attrarre le giovani promesse del mondo del lavoro.
Brand positioning: posiziona la tua identità
Il posizionamento, sia a livello globale che locale, ha un’importanza straordinaria nel processo di employer branding. In uno scenario come quello attuale infatti bisogna riuscire ad emergere tra la massa dei competitor. Tramite una buon brand positioning è possibile distinguersi dalla concorrenza e far combaciare la propria identità come datori di lavoro con la percezione che i candidati hanno della nostra azienda. Se i candidati che rispondono agli annunci sono sempre più in linea con le aspettative, vuol dire che il posizionamento sta avendo successo.
Queste, dunque, sono le basi dell’employer branding. Ovviamente, è bene ricordare che nessuno di questi passaggi risulterà utile se l’immagine che trasmettiamo dell’azienda non corrisponde alla realtà.
